A Footnote to a Very Bad Idea
An academic copyeditor discovers that footnotes in an unpublished manuscript predict small acts of sabotage around campus. The retired scholar named in its acknowledgments insists the book is a joke, but every attempt to remove a reference gives someone a more dangerous idea.
