What you get
What do I get exactly?
You get a complete drafting workflow shaped by your direction: Muse planning, chapter-by-chapter writing, continuity-aware assembly, an original cover, plus Word, EPUB, and Markdown files for every completed book. Paid plans also receive monthly bonus cover recreations.
Can I recreate a book cover?
Yes. Paid plans receive cover recreations as a monthly bonus gift: 4 on Author, 12 on Publisher, 48 on Mogul, and 240 on Disruptor. They do not spend your book credits. Use them across several books or spend several on one book, then switch between the retained versions. Only successful recreations count; failed or safety-blocked attempts use none. The bonus refreshes with your monthly credit cycle and does not roll over.
Can I edit my book once it is written?
Yes, absolutely! Once your book is complete, you can download it as a Word (.docx), EPUB, or text file with one click. You can open the Word file in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Scrivener, or any text editor to make edits, polish dialogue, add scenes, or reformat for self-publishing.
Can I match my own writing voice or paste writing samples?
Yes. In the story brief and prompt fields, you can paste samples of your previous writing along with specific voice directives (such as tone, pacing, vocabulary, and POV). Muse incorporates your stylistic guidelines across every chapter so the manuscript matches your authentic voice.
Can I read my book on a Kindle or e-reader?
Yes. Every finished book downloads as an EPUB alongside the Word file, so you can read it in Apple Books, Kobo, or send it to your Kindle — or open the Word version to edit and format it for print.
How does this compare with hiring a writer?
ImagineYourBook gives you a complete draft from your own direction, while a hired writer offers a different level of collaboration and service. Compare the plan cost with the time, editing, and creative control your project needs.
Why do 10k-word books use 2 credits?
Because Muse 7.0 first recognizes the book's genre blend, audience, ending contract, and style rules, then plans each chapter before drafting it. That lets the engine carry your creative choices across the manuscript instead of producing disconnected text. Muse 7.0 Max adds maximum thinking depth for your most important projects and uses 3x credits.
Can standard chatbots write full books too?
Not reliably at this depth. Full books require long-range continuity, chapter-level control, and stable progression across tens of thousands of words.
What makes the drafting process different?
Muse maps the whole book first, then drafts chapter by chapter with continuity rules and your creative direction in view. The result is a more structurally useful draft for you to edit, refine, and make unmistakably yours.
How long does one book take to generate?
Generation time depends on your chosen target book size:
- Short Book (5,000 words): ~4–10 min
- Small Book (10,000 words): ~6–15 min
- Medium Book (20,000 words): ~12–30 min
- Large Book (40,000 words): ~25–60 min
- Extra Large Book (80,000 words): ~50–120 min
- Epic Book (120,000 words): ~75–180 min
Publishing & rights
Can I use the books commercially (for example on Amazon KDP)?
Yes. Commercial use is allowed, including selling books. As always, you are responsible for final review, compliance, and platform-specific requirements.
Are the books publication-ready?
They are complete drafts, not a replacement for your judgment as the author. Plan on a final review for voice, facts, formatting, and platform requirements before you publish.
Can these books be used for lead magnets, lead generation, or lead nurturing?
Absolutely. Books are powerful trust assets for opt-ins, onboarding, nurture sequences, and premium offer positioning.
How do humans turn these books into income?
Use a multi-platform publishing workflow, such as Amazon KDP, Leanpub, or direct sales, then repurpose each manuscript into additional formats like an ebook, paperback, workbook, or companion guide.
Can I build a publishing catalog with these books?
Yes. You can use the higher-volume plans for a pen name, series, or client catalog. Sales and income still depend on your editing, positioning, distribution, and readers; they are never guaranteed.
Content types
What kinds of books can I create?
Fiction, non-fiction, children's stories, educational books, and high-conversion lead-generation books. The manuscript workflow is text-first, and if you want an image book you can use Images to keep the same character, persona, and art style consistent across multiple scenes.
What if I want to make an image book?
Create the manuscript in My Library, then make artwork separately in Create Illustrations. Draft bundles cost 1 credit; Final bundles cost 2 credits. Each bundle includes 4 image slots. A new visual anchor uses 1 slot; selecting an existing finished image as the anchor is free. Download the portrait files and place them into your final layout yourself.
Can parents create unique gifts for kids or birthdays?
Yes. This is one of the most loved use cases. Personalized stories make memorable birthday gifts and keepsakes.
Trial & billing
How does annual billing affect my credits?
Annual plans are paid once for the year and save about 17% or more, depending on the plan. You receive the same plan allowance each month, and unused monthly credits do not roll over.
What happens if I need a different plan later?
You can switch plans or billing frequency as your publishing cadence changes. Your book credits and bonus cover recreation ceiling follow the active plan immediately. Prior cover uses remain counted for the current cycle; an upgrade adds room, while a downgrade may leave no bonus recreations until the next refresh.
What does the trial include?
$0 today. One 10k-word Small Book is included. The first $24.99 charge happens after 7 days. Cancel anytime before day 8.
Do you have a referral program?
Yes, a simple one. When someone you referred becomes a paying customer, email admin@imagineyourbook.com from your account email with the new customer's email address, and we add +4 bonus credits to your account.
